    Description

    Seven Prisms! Restoration Enthusiasts!! Hobbyists! - Arts & Crafts!   Antique Luxfer Prism Tiles used in the late 1800’s, early 1900’s to bring light into a room by redirecting Natural Light from outside. The Saw Tooth Design was used to accomplish this. Originally the Prism Glass Tiles were Clear and over the 100 year span the Sunlight and use of Manganese in the manufacturing process have changed the color of the Tiles to a Magnificent Amethyst/Lavender/Lilac Color Each Tile Contains approximately 18 to 20 prisms on the interior side. The Luxfer Glass Co. in Chicago made this kind of tile from 1890 to 1920. Each of the Tiles has an “X” for” Luxfer” in the corner. Tiles came out an Old Building in Northern Minnesota. Each measures 4” square.  Condition: Overall excellent. Some have a few Fleabites on the edges and corners. Probably happened when dislodging the tiles. Overall excellent condition for 100 years old. Tiles weigh 4+ pounds.
