    Description

    A scarce example of a non-excavated 1 piece Civil War Confederate State of North Carolina starburst button.   Albert# NC-16-A.  There is no backmark as expected.   Rare to find these in non-excavated condition.   Copper button has a rich patina.   Due to the local manufacturing of these buttons, variations in the shank are common.   I am not sure this is the original shank but it does have tons of patina.  It may be original or a period field fix or a later replacement, you be the judge.    Button measures 22.60mm.  See photos for condition details.
