PAIR Imperial Cape Cod Baskets Clear and AmberGlo 1977 Star Exclusives SAMPLE

Two Imperial Cape Cod 160/40 Baskets.
The clear basket was made as part of the regular Cape Cod line although the Garrison's could never pin down the exact dates made.
It was probably made in the 1960s and 1970s. It has not chips or cracks.
The foot of this one was fire polished so the seams and corners are not sharp. The AmberGlo basket appears to not have been fire polished
as the seems and corners are sharp.
The AmberGlo basket was part of a sample kit made for the party plan called Star Exclusives which went out of business before the order could
be produced by Imperial.  It is not known how many sample kits were made.  This information, and a list of the items made, is on page 129 of the Garrison's Cape Cod book.
There is no damage to either piece other than a small rub or rough spot to the seam on the foot of the Amberglo basket.
This basket also has bits of something, maybe unmelted cullet glass inside the glass in the bottom.  Both areas shown in close up photos.
See close up of the Amberglo handle attachment to see that it appears to not have been pushed all the way flush against the base as there is
a bulge of glass under the handler's mark.  It is attached firmly, it just looks different from the side.  This is the last photo.
Both handles show the handler's sheer mark on one side where the handle is attached to the base.  This is how they are made (hot glass handle attached to first side then swung over
to second side and the hot glass cut with sheers)
