Rare Civil War Confederate “CS” Naval Cuff Button.
The button is 18mm in diameter with anchor and crossed cannon device, on a lined field rope border. It is stamped on the back “Courtney & Tennent”.
The button is not in Tice’s book but it can be found in “Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons” Bicentennial Edition by Alphaeus S. Albert on page 364.
The button’s shank is intact, but it does have a dent right below the anchor.
