The Foreword states that the Carson & Pacific, "boasted precious little in the way of new equipment. After 1885, all of its motive power and rolling stock were of 'hand-me-down' variety. The line was never completed and realized only half of its intended trackage." It was located on both sides of the Nevada/California border.
