    Description

“The Lima Route” by Scott Trostel was the first comprehensive treatment of this interurban consortium that served central-western Ohio, with a “clean, efficient transportation system that was years ahead of its time.” Cities that were served in the mid-Miami valley included Dayton, Springfield, Troy, Piqua, and Covington, but service was extended to Lima, Bowling Green, and Toledo, among others. Companies like the Western Ohio Railway, the Dayton & Troy Electric Railway, the Springfield, Troy & Piqua Railway, and the Toledo, Bowling Green & Southern formed this consortium called “the Lima Route” for the purposes of coordinated operations between Dayton and Toledo.
Long thought to be out-of-print, the author found a couple of cases of new copies. Trostel is a well-known, widely recognized authority on western Ohio interurbans, the Detroit, Toledo & Ironton, Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural and funeral trains, and Henry Ford.
This is a new, shrinkwrapped, unread hardcover copy with a dust jacket.
